Here we are, four full days into the second semester of the school year. It's hard to believe the calendar has turned once again to January...always a month that brings some excitement about being in the second half of the school year! There is MUCH to do between now an the last day of classes on May 24th, and the new CRSD website is one way teachers, students, parents, and community members can be better informed about what is happening district-wide.
The new EMPLOYEE PORTAL should be one of the first places CRSD staff members "stop" each day...or make it your home page, as there are links to the tools you use in your classroom throughout the day right there on the page. BOARD REPORTS are also available online. For all of you Pinterest addicts out there, the CRSD Pinterest page has a bunch of board dedicated to collecting great ideas for teaching and learning. And don't forget to "LIKE" the Copper River School District Facebook page...and follow us on Twitter! Check out the intro video for TED-Ed ... and nominate an educator, an animator, or a lesson! Many CRSD faculty members attended the recent ASTE conference in Anchorage and were inspired by the power and potential of technology to transform our classrooms and schools. Since March is also Arts Education Month, I encourage you to consider ways to integrate the arts in your classroom teaching repertoire, as well. Take a look at this awe-inspiring technology-meets-the-arts project that involved folks from around the globe...singing from their own homes using basic webcams and microphones to create an international choir. |
