General Ed Curriculum Planning: 4/22/11
Tasks for 4/22/11 In-Service:
- Review READING & WRITING CCS content taught and materials used since last meeting
- Record materials/strategies/etc. on map OR have a recorder compile information on electronic list
- PACING Discussion: In your team, review standards for READING & WRITING and determine WHEN they should be focused on and assessed for mastery (Quarter 1, Quarter 2, etc.). Indicate quarter for each standard in margin on your team's master map.
- FOCUS TEXT Conversation: At your grade level, talk about "required" texts/readings for your grade level. What book(s), play(s), poem(s), etc., should EVERY child read before they graduate from our school district? A RECORDER in each group should note texts you suggest for the list. Visit the Common Core site (Appendix B) for a list of suggested grade-level texts.
